Divinity: Original Sin Hits Kickstarter Goal, Promises More Weresheep
With 17 days left to go in their Kickstarter campaign, Larian Studios has hit their $400,000 funding goal for Divinity: Original Sin.
And thanks to the relatively early success of the fundraising campaign, the folks at Larian Studios can now build more worlds, add more secrets to the game, flesh out more characters and ... include more weresheep. Why? Well, you can never have enough killer livestock in a role-playing game.
In other good news, Divinity: Original Sin will now be coming to Linux and Mac as well! While they can't promise that the Linux and Mac versions will be released at the same time as the PC version, they'll try to aim for a release date close to it.
With a little more than two weeks left in the Kickstarter's campaign's life, Larian will aim for some stretch goals. According to the project page, these goals are:
- $500,000 - New Area: Your Homestead on the Shelter Plane At The End Of Time. An accidental gift by the Imp Historian.
- $650,000 - Personality traits and talents. We'll introduce talents that further define your character. These talents help you in combat, in dialogues, and other interactions.
- $800,000 - Henchmen become companions. Companions will have a background, their own story to tell, their own goals, and their own personality.
- $1,000,000 - NPC schedules, day/night cycles, and weather systems have an impact on NPCs and monsters. The weather and moons change and influence the different schools of magic.
