The degradation of society has been a topic of conversation for a lot of people. Reducing society from luxury to instinct always seems to capture the imagination. There are small examples through history. But even then, the fall of Rome and the descent into the Dark Ages are only small steps backward when compared with the plague in The Last of Us.
Once in awhile, a video game comes along to transcend the medium beyond what you thought possible. It elevates the bar so high that other games that were once thought to be great are now a bit inadequate in comparison. Does The Last of Us elevate video games into the stratosphere of storytelling, graphics, and gameplay?
Zombies suck. I'm sorry, but they do. And you're going to have to deal with them, and with humans as you try and survive in the world of The Last of Us. I had a chance to play this exciting game for a few minutes and it blew me away.
