The GDC video for Mighty No. 9 features gameplay that reminds us of what we loved so much about the Mega Man and Mega Man X series. An interesting addition to the standard Blue Bomber mechanics includes the ability to stun enemies with your blaster and use a dash to finish them off (along with the new ability to dash downwards).
This video also introduces us to all eight rival bosses that Beck will fight throughout Mighty No. 9. These bosses include the Zero-inspired Mighty No. 7, but also showcase an array of Mega Man boss archetypes. As always, there is a fire boss, a water boss and an electric boss (take a wild guess as to the order in which you should fight those three).
There are also two huge Guts Man-like bosses, with one being made of massive construction equipment and the other being comprised of Gatling guns. Continuing the military theme of the Gatling gun boss is a sniper robot master along with helicopter/jet hybrid boss.
Mighty No. 9 is anticipated for a PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita launch sometime in 2015.
