Here's a first look at gameplay from Boss Key Productions and Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski's LawBreakers, formerly known as Project Bluestreak.

After releasing a cinematic trailer a few days ago, Cliff Bleszinski and Boss Key Productions have revealed some debut gameplay of LawBreakers, their free-to-play, first-person shooter. Taking place in an apocalyptic future, there are all kinds of advanced warfare going on throughout LawBreakers' battlefield. Due to a cataclysmic event called The Shattering, which was triggered by mankind fragmenting the moon in an experiment, the world of LawBreakers is affected by gravity fluxes. The resulting chaos of The Shattering has led to the cartels and gangs of the world converging on the United States in order to take advantage of its citizens. In response, the police force has united to fight this menace head on.

This debut gameplay video showcases four of LawBreaker's classes. We get to see how different each of these characters play. For example, Maverick the skirmisher has a gatling gun and can fly around with a jetpack-like mechanism. Cronos is a hulking giant equipped with a rocket launcher. In tribute to the glory days of the first-person shooter genre, Cronos can actually rocket jump to higher heights. He can also slam the ground in order to damage nearby enemies. Kitsune the assassin uses energy daggers. To close the gap between Kitsune and her prey, she has a grappling hook she can use to swing across wide areas. She can also use the grappling hook to pull in enemies close and stab them. Breacher the gunner has a massive firearm as well as a shoulder-mounted missile launcher and is capable of shooting behind him. Likewise, his missile launcher can aim in a variety of directions the character isn't facing.

LawBreakers is off to a great start. Unfortunately, we won't get to try this free-to-play FPS frag-fest until 2016 on PC.
