Boss Key Productions' Project Bluestreak is now called LawBreakers, which Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski announced will be coming in 2016.

After months of teasing, Cliff Bleszinski and Boss Key Productions have revealed that LawBreakers is the official name of Project Bluestreak. Kicking things off with a cinematic trailer, Bleszinski and company revealed that this first-person shooter will feature some otherworldly gameplay. LawBreakers takes place in the future, where the government's experiments on the moon triggered a cataclysmic event called The Shattering. Similar to The Shattering of Azeroth, the event caused hurricanes, earthquakes and all kinds of elemental devastation. As a result of the fragmenting of the moon, Earth's gravity starts going haywire, resulting in areas where gravity is less powerful and sometimes hardly there.

Despite this world-breaking event, humanity has survived and moved on. Unfortunately, the gangs and drug cartels of the world started rallying to America in order to take advantage of the chaos. As a result, the police of the world are unifying to meet them in full force. During LawBreakers' debut presentation on Twitch, Bleszinski and his team revealed that the first-person arena combat of the game will take place between two factions: the LawBreakers and the Law. As you'd expect, Bleszinski's history with Unreal Tournament and Gears of War comes back full force with gravity-defying gameplay, team-oriented bouts and all kinds of futuristic weaponry. Cliff was proud about the project's vertically-oriented shooting mechanics, where you'll use gravity fluxes and grappling hooks to reach the higher areas of the stages and get the drop on your enemies.

Boss Key Productions announced that LawBreakers will unleash its free-to-play antics in 2016. Unfortunately, no consoles have been revealed for the project yet.
