Square Enix has revealed some unique bonuses you get for pre-ordering Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on PC, but they're for a different game.

Pre-order bonuses are getting weirder and weirder. This time, Square Enix has decided to offer content for a non-Square Enix game as incentive for buying Final Fantasy Type-0 HD prior to its release on Steam. Strangely enough, these goodies are Final Fantasy-themed bonuses for DOTA 2, the popular multiplayer online battle arena game rival to League of Legends. I'll be honest here and link my review of the PS4 version of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD from earlier this year for two honest reasons: shameless self promotion and to reiterate my feelings about the game. This PC version of Type-0 HD will offer scalable motion blur settings (which were far too much in the PS4 version and used to hide unimproved environments taken directly from the original PSP game). There is also an improved camera, controller support, enhanced graphics options, and other bonuses.

“Developing FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD for Steam gave us the opportunity to fully realize our original vision of the game in an enhanced and refined experience exclusively for PC players,” said Director Hajime Tabata.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will launch via Steam on Aug. 18. Those who pre-order the game prior to its release will be a Master Chocobo as your courier and a Class Zero Moogle as your ward in DOTA 2. You also get an exclusive loading screen for pre-ordering, which is probably the the first time I have ever seen a loading screen advertised as a pre-order bonus and hopefully the last.
