Barbara Gordon is going to take the spotlight this month in Batgirl: A Matter of Family, the first story driven DLC add-on for Batman: Arkham Knight.

Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment have announced the pricing and release date for Batman: Arkham Knight's first major piece of downloadable content. Now that Scarecrow's fear toxin has started to dissipate and Gotham's Rogues Gallery is locked up at GCPD (spoilers: criminals go to jail), it's time to go back to an era long before the Arkham series started. During the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Barbara Gordon was already the Oracle, who helped the Dark Knight from her Batcomputer at home. Batgirl: A Matter of Family will have you playing as Commissioner Gordon's little girl back when she donned the cape and cowl, long before the horrific events of Alan Moore's unforgettable piece, Batman: The Killing Joke.

As Batgirl, you'll be playing in an all-new location with a variety of missions, side quests, secrets and even some Dual Play functionality with Robin. Batgirl has a new hacking feature that Batman didn't have in the main game, so expect some more puzzle-solving as well. Batgirl: A Matter of Family will launch for Batman: Arkham Knight on July 21 for $6.99 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. This DLC expansion will be included in the game's $39.99 Season Pass. Furthermore, Season Pass owners will gain early access to this content, starting on July 14. Warner Bros. and Rocksteady have six months of content planned, including more super villains, story missions, Batmobile skins, character outfits, challenge maps, race tracks and more.
