Torment: Tides of Numenera is nearing the end of its Kickstarter project with just 14 days to go. In a bid to garner as much support as they can within the second half of the project's life, they've added game designer Chris Avellone as a stretch goal.

If the $3.5 million mark is hit before the project's end, Avellone will join the team at inXile entertainment to help work on Torment. Why is this important? Well, Avellone was the lead designer for Planescape: Torment, the very game that inspired inXile to create Torment: Tides of Numenera in the first place. Avellone is also the co-founder and creative director at Obsidian Entertainment, where he acted as lead designed for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, just in case you also enjoyed that particular role-playing gem.

Should Avellone join the team, he will review and provide feedback on the game's creative elements, such as story, characters, and areas. He will also design an eighth companion for the game, alongside team members Colin and Monte.

If you'd like to see this happen, then go to the game's project page on Kickstarter and start funding! As of this writing, the project has $2,871,281 pledged with 14 days to go!
