The Witness Screens Rise Up from the Marsh

Jonathan Blow and Number None, Inc.'s upcoming open-world puzzle, The Witness, has some new screenshots for you to explore. Step into the marsh!

An update on the official website for The Witness featured several screenshots from the game's marsh area. Orsi Spanyol, one of the artists working on The Witness, said that the entire area had been "left unresolved for a long time," so they all banded together as a team to finish it.

One of the biggest challenges was infusing the area with color because it was a marsh research facility that was teeming with algae pools. Spanyol said, "...there was a high risk of making it look like a clown had exploded on it."

Thankfully, it looks like the marsh was saved from any clownsplosion that threatened it, as you can see from the screenshots below. There's no release date set for The Witness yet, but we can expect it on PC, iOS and PlayStation 4 sometime this year.
