With Disney Infinity 3.0 and Lego Dimensions on the horizon, it should be no surprise that Activision has a new Skylanders game in the works.

VideoGamer reports that the next Skylanders title will be called Skylanders Superchargers and will introduce vehicles to the game. Lego Dimensions is already taking the vehicular and accessory route for its gameplay and figures. For example, the Back to the Future playset will include a mini-Hover Board and mini-DeLorean that can be scanned and utilized in your gameplay. Likewise, the Batman sets will include a variety of Bat-themed vehicles. Disney Infinity 3.0 will be including kart racing, pod racing (ugh) for its Star Wars-themed parts and aerial dogfights. The name of Skylanders Superchargers was inadvertently revealed by American motorsports pro Travis Pastrana, who has since removed his posts about filming promotional material for the game off of his social media accounts.

"Was filming some cool stuff for a new Activision game called Skylanders Superchargers this weekend," said Pastrana in a now deleted Instagram post.

The latest incarnation of the series, Skylanders: Trap Team, launched in early Oct. 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Android and iOS. Trap Team introduced the new trap devices, which could be scanned using your portal device to store enemy characters found in-game, letting you control them as if they were on your side.

With E3 2015 around the corner, we're sure we'll hear about whatever the next Skylanders game will be. We have a feeling the next game and its wide array of new figures will be in stores just in time for the holiday season.
