Nintendo and Activision are partnering up to make the first Skylanders and amiibo hybrids, starting off with Donkey Kong and Bowser.

Activision will introduce Nintendo's amiibo figures to Skylanders SuperChargers in the form of some new figures based on two of the biggest characters in Nintendo history. Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser are going to function as both amiibo and Skylanders figuresThe base of each figure will have a twist-able switch based on how you would like to use them: amiibo or Skylanders.

"Activision's Skylanders games have been very popular on Nintendo platforms, and we hope this collaboration will delight fans of the franchise," said Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. "We believe this unique approach will help expand the entire category and make it appealing to even more players."

"Since we made the first toys-to-life game, some of our most dedicated players have been Nintendo fans around the world. Skylanders is delighted to welcome beloved guest stars Donkey Kong and Bowser into its magical world."

You can expect both Bowser and Donkey Kong to stay true to their look and lore while they guest star in the Skylands. Skylanders SuperChargers will launch on Sept. 20 for Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
