Meet Tanya, the newest fighter to join the ranks of Mortal Kombat X as another downloadable content character.

NetherRealm Studios has posted a Tanya-focused gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat X. Tanya reminds us very much of how Jade used to play or Kitana's Mournful fighting style (which tributes the deceased Jade). The connections to Jade are evident by Tanya's use of an extending halberd, which is used similarly to the green vixen's bo staff. Once the fists start flying, we assure you that Tanya's deadly skills are unique to her.

Debuting alongside Tanya is the Klassic Skins Pack DLC, which features costumes for Kano, Liu Kang and Sonya Blade based on their outfits in the first Mortal Kombat title. While it's cool to see these outfits, Kano and Liu Kang already had tournament skins based on how they looked in the earlier timeline. Not that we're complaining, but we were just hoping for more variety in the skins (we're still hoping for Injustice and battle-damage outfits).

Those who bought the Kombat Pack Season Pass for MKX will be able to download Tanya and the Klassic Skins Pack on June 2. Both the costume pack and Tanya will be available as separate, paid downloads for everyone else on June 9. Next month, we're most likely getting the Tremor DLC character and the Klassic Skins for Kung Lao, Jax and Quan Chi (even though Quan Chi's in-game costumes are already too similar to his original look). There's also the Predator DLC character to wait for, and a Predator-themed costume pack with new outfits for Johnny Cage, Scorpion and Jax.
