That's right, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Roman Reign, Dean Ambrose and the rest of WWE's Superstars will be in a mobile fighting game done by the Mortal Kombat crew at NetherRealm Studios.

WWE and Warner Bros. Interactive have announced that the Mortal Kombat team of NetherRealm Studios will be making a wrestling-themed fighting game for iOS and Android devices next year. WWE Immortals will be a stylistic, re-imagined version of WWE's brand of sports entertainment (aka lots of talking with occasional matches of pro-wrestling). We're glad to see the Mortal Kombat krew go beyond their comfort zone of Lin Kuei ninjas and DC superheroes. At the same time, we wonder how NetherRealm will adapt to WWE's PG standards on the mobile format.

“We are excited to partner with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios to create WWE Immortals and bring a new action-packed mobile experience to our passionate fan base,” said Casey Collins, Executive Vice President, Consumer Products, WWE. “By tapping into NetherRealm’s legendary game development studio along with the unparalleled reach of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, we are creating a new way for fans to engage with the larger-than-life WWE characters.”

WWE Immortals will launch on iOS and Android devices in 2015.
