Mega Man Online, a collaboration between Capcom and NeoWiz Games, has been cancelled, reports Kotaku.

A Kotaku reader translated a post on the Korean site This Is Game, in which a NeoWiz rep confirmed the game's defunct status: "Both companies have continually discussed to find agreeable points on quality, development time, communication and etc. Unfortunately, both companies have agreed to stop the development of Rock Man Online last early November."

Signs of the cancellation started a year ago, as the game's official blog had not been update since March 2012. The game's head artist, Kang Dong Hwa, was dropped from the title last September, and his concept artwork for the title can be seen on The Mega Man Network.

Fans of Mega Man, who's known as Rockman in Japan, haven't been entirely left out in the cold, thanks to December's release of the hit PC game Street Fighter X Mega Man.

In a perfect world, however, production would resume on Mega Man Legends 3 for the Nintendo 3DS, but that title, just like Mega Man Online, has also been cancelled. Mega sad!
