Venture into the unexplored areas of the galaxy in this awesome, debut trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

You know what we weren't expecting for the first official trailer for Mass Effect 4? Country music. That's right, the first official trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda starts off with country music. While a little bit of country in the spacey, tech-filled universe of Mass Effect seems a bit strange, it's safe to say no one was expecting that, but there's a reason why BioWare decided to use it — it symbolizes the left field approach that they intend to do with Andromeda. This Johnny Cash-esque song helps portray the Wild West and frontier theme of Mass Effect: Andromeda as your character explores the deepest, darkest areas of the galaxy; to boldly go with no man has gone before and all that good stuff.

As for the trailer itself, we see our new human protagonist, decked out in a revamped style of N7 armor, using a revamped Galaxy Map that takes up an entire wall. After selecting a planet, the wall becomes see-through, as if it were a window. We see the planet approach just and our new hero settling down on it. We get some quick images of the person landing, the new Mako tank in action (at a much faster speed than before) and some sort of technological or Geth-like buildings rise out of the ground. Obscure enemy forces arrive, and the player uses his new jet pack function to spring into action, with an Omni-Blade at the ready.

At the end of the trailer, we got a launch window for the fabled fourth Mass Effect title: Holiday 2016. While BioWare didn't specify any target platforms, we're pretty sure that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be hitting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
