Grand Theft Auto 5 Has Been Delayed

Rockstar has announced the official release date for Grand Theft Auto 5, which has been delayed from this spring to September 17th.

Originally slated to arrive before the summer heat started bearing down, Grand Theft Auto 5 will now unfortunately not be hitting shelves until this September. Knowing just how much fans have been looking forward to this sequel, Rockstar issued an apology along with the release date reveal.

"We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience."
It's a shame we won't be getting GTA 5 any time soon, but at least we now know when it will be available. Hopefully the rumored fall/holiday arrival of next generation consoles doesn't affect the launch any further.
