Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions’ Launch Window and Details Revealed

We have learned some interesting new details about Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions, which marks Sierra’s return to gaming.

Metro reports that Sierra, which was revived as a subsidiary, small-time developer under Activision, will be publishing Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. On top of this, we now know what consoles Dimensions will be hitting along with its intended launch window. Dimensions heralds the return of Sierra to gaming. While Sierra is meant to be an indie-style publishing company under Activision’s wing, having Activision in your corner is pretty much the exact opposite of being indie. Nevertheless, we’re glad to see that Geometry Wars 3 is one of the label’s debut titles alongside King’s Quest.

While Bizarre Creations, the studio behind the first two Geometry Wars titles, is long gone, a majority of its staff now work at Lucid Games, which is making this geometric shooter. The most interesting change to the formula that Lucid is making resides within Dimensions’ namesake — Geometry Wars is turning 3D. Many of its levels now have you engaging in Geometry Wars’ trademark, twin-stick shooting around 3D arenas and shapes (think of running around the smaller planets of Super Mario Galaxy). Get it? Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions — 3D.

We can expect Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions to get its Mario Galaxy on when it launches sometime by the end of the year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Dimensions will have 50 levels, a 10-level four-player mode and will cost $14.99.
