We gotta hand it to Tilt Studios, they are definitely trying something different. The developers behind the upcoming platformer game Spunk and Moxie will implement a unique promotional strategy for their new game -- they will pay $1,000 to the first person to beat Spunk and Moxie after it launches on iOS. Everyone loves a contest!

Spunk and Moxie comes out in two weeks, so you will have some time to study the trailer and absorb the gameplay through osmosis. Or something like that. But you gotta try something, cause that's a lot of money!

Spunk and Moxie stars a blobulus pile of goo named Spunk. Tap the screen and the little guy will jump for you. You will need to give him different power-ups as you move through a stage, changing his color so you can do things like dash forward and bust through obstacles. The game will come equipped with leaderboards (presumably how they will determine the winner of the contest) and unlockable characters from other indie games, like Super Meat Boy.

The devs say a casual gamer would take about 20 hours to complete the game. But you know the winning time is going to be way, way faster than that. Start studying that trailer! There's also a flash game out there that this game is based on, but we'll leave that investigating for you to do on your own. When money's on the line, every man for himself!

Spunk and Moxie will splat into the App Store on February 21.
