We're 15 days from liftoff as Firaxis revealed the intro cinematic for Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth.

Just in time for Christopher Nolan to send Matthew McConaughey into space for a similar reason in 'Interstellar,' Firaxis' intro cinematic for Civilization: Beyond Earth features an overcrowded Earth with humanity's future residing on a dozen space shuttles being sent across the galaxy. This intro cinematic, called "The Chosen," focuses on how lucky people are to get aboard one of the futuristic space shuttles heading towards deep space for the sake of galactic colonization. Given the millions of tents seen, Earth has gotten a bit overpopulated, and since the world didn't feel like instituting the means of population control China currently has in place, we've gotta go across space to wreck more planets in the name of the civilization and humanity.

If there's anything we learned from 'Alien', it would be that waking up from cryo-sleep is NOT that easy.

Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth will launch on Oct. 24 for PC.
