Sony has unveiled the theatrical trailer of 'Ratchet & Clank,' and made a big announcement for fans of the original game.

Along with 'Sly Cooper,' 'Ratchet & Clank' marks yet another PlayStation gaming series starring anthropomorphic animals making the jump to the silver screen. In particular, 'Ratchet & Clank' looks to draw inspiration straight from its source material, as its title character seems to have been taken right from a CGI cutscene of his latest adventure. As we can see by its trailer, 'Ratchet & Clank' will focus on Ratchet's origins as he tries to be like his childhood idol, Captain Qwark. It isn't until Ratchet meets the robotic Clank that he finds the means of fulfilling his dreams.

Sony and Insomniac Games have announced that the original Ratchet & Clank game is getting remade for PlayStation 4. This remake is getting revamped visuals, completely new mechanics, additional sequences, redone levels and is going to be much more ironed-out in order to adhere to current PS4 standards. Even though Ratchet & Clank holds a lot of reverence in the hearts of gamers, the original game wasn't really the best the franchise has to offer, so we're glad to seeing this piece of gaming history getting the makeover it deserves. We can expect to see Ratchet & Clank in theaters and on PS4 sometime in 2015.
