Payday 2 Release Date Confirmed, Coming to Steam First

Overkill has revealed the official release date for its bank heist FPS Payday 2, with PC players enjoying the spoils first.

Payday 2 will release on Steam on Aug. 13. Other platforms, like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will get the game by Aug. 16, but no specific date for either console version has been offered to this point.

We've been tracking Payday 2 for quite some time, and are eager to get our thieving hands on the sequel as soon as possible. We'd love to start living out our dreams of re-enacting 'Heat' and 'Inside Man' as soon as possible. At least the wait won't be much longer for console owners.
