It seems that Father's Day comes early for walking, talking cephalopods.

Kevin Zhun, Young Horses Inc.'s creative director, announced on the PlayStation Blog that Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be making its next-gen debut tomorrow, April 22, on PlayStation 4. That's right, you will get to control the cephalopod dad with eight floppy appendages while he masquerades as a standard family man on the PS4.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch has its title character taking his human family out on many adventures that would be normal for a dad to do, but dangerous for a sea creature to even think of, such as going to the aquarium, ordering sushi for the kids, etc. The PC version of Octodad was released this past January, and this PS4 upgrade will bring out a ton of changes that were inspired by player feedback from the PC release. In particular, the last act of the game underwent multiple changes, including new disguises and animations that the PC edition never saw. Also, the PlayStation Move has been completely integrated, even offering the ability to control Octodad while a Move wands in each hand.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch will launch on PS4 on April 22 for the PlayStation Plus member discount price of $11.99. This discount will remain in effect until April 29, where it will revert back to its standard price of $14.99.
