This February, Deep Silver and ETX Racing are bringing NASCAR back to consoles with NASCAR 14. Check out the latest trailer, featuring the one and only, Tony Stewart.

Due out Feb. 18, NASCAR 14 will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for just $49.99. While we haven't seen very much of the new racer in action, we do know a little about what to expect from the latest game focused on the world's largest spectator sport.

There'll be a career mode where you'll have to work your way up through the ranks, earn sponsors and create custom car builds to ensure victory. Of course, your real mettle will be tested in the online leagues, which offer stat tracking and challenges. You can also take part in more standard online quick races and tournaments, too. NASCAR Highlights will offer key moments from the 2014 racing season, recreated in-game to the exact real world conditions, but with you in control instead of the drivers. Retailers like Walmart, Gamestop, Best Buy, Target and Amazon will all have some sort of exclusive offer for NASCAR 14, including special paint jobs or diecast cars. Tony Stewart did win the fan vote for cover star, ousting the likes of Dale, Jr, Jeff Gordon, et al.

It's been a long time since we've had a competent and enjoyable NASCAR game on consoles, and we hope the time ETX Racing has had to put NASCAR 14 together will mean the wait will have been worth it. As one of the most popular sports in North America, there's a fanbase out there that not only wants this game to be good, they want it to succeed, too. Count us among those looking forward to the day the green flag drops.
