We've got some bad news for Infinity Blade fans out there. Epic Games has made the decision that they will be closing the Maryland-based Impossible Studios, causing an unavoidable delay to the development of Infinity Blade Dungeons. Bummer!

Here's what Epic Games' Tim Sweeney had to say about the matter, in an announcement post he made on Epic's official website:

We're closing Impossible Studios. When former members of Big Huge Games approached Epic last year, we saw the opportunity to help a great group of people while putting them to work on a project that needed a team.  It was a bold initiative and the Impossible folks made a gallant effort, but ultimately it wasn't working out for Epic. This means that Infinity Blade: Dungeons is now on hold as we figure out the future of the project.

Sweeney also mentioned that affected employees would get three months of severance pay, which ain't that bad. But it still undoubtedly comes as a bit of a shock. We will update you on any news that breaks about the maligned Infinity Blade Dungeons, which has been bouncing around different game studios in various stages of its development.
