In celebration of Halo: The Master Chief Collection's release, 343 Industries has released a 9-minute-long video about Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer as well as a bunch of screenshots.

343 Industries has revealed that all Spartans will be getting the following new abilities in Halo 5's multiplayer: the Thruster Pack, Ground Pound, Clamber, Slide, Charge, Sprint and Smart Scope.

The Thruster Pack gives you a short, omni-directional dash. Spartan Armor now are equipped with mini-jets that act as stabilizers which let you hover. Clambering helps pull you up across ledges with your hands and lets you jump over obstacles smoothly.  Ground Pound is just like the Titan's special attack from Destiny. Sliding comes from crouching while sprinting, which lets you get into cover quickly. Charge happens if you melee while running, which gives you a powerful shoulder tackle that is likely to be an insta-kill. 343 Industries has made it so that your shields can't recharge while running to provide some balance.

The Smart Scope works with all weapons and gives iron sights to a lot of Halo 5's arsenal. Certain weapons will only zoom in a little via the Spartan's helmet display (like the Assault Rifle), while other weapons get a special feature while Smart Scoping (like automatic targeting). 343 is adamant that firing from the hip, the series' longtime standard, is still just as good and accurate as ever.

343 Industries has confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer beta starts on Dec. 29 and will run until Jan. 19. It will have three modes and seven maps available. The beta will only be available to those who own Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
