Turtle Rock Studios and 2K are taking an approach to DLC that the industry should take note of by adding two new maps to Evolve for free.

With this newest update for Evolve, players will find themselves battling for survival on two new maps, the Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry. Also did we mention that these two new maps are free? While there's still a bit of a wait until the maps come out, there's a lot more to them than simply being new battlefields.

The Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry will be delivering two completely new environments to Evolve's gameplay. You can check out what each one looks like in the gallery below. The first new arena, the Broken Hill Mine, will be bringing, "a deep labyrinth of caves running below the surface of Shear," into the asymmetrical shooter. It will be bringing two new campaign effects to the evacuation game mode as well. When Hunters win, the mining drones that are present throughout the environment will be repurposed as shield drones in the next match. On the other hand, if the Monster wins, it will destroy the mining drill, which will make birds pop out all over the place, confusing the Hunters as to where the Monster truly lies in wait.

The second map is the Broken Hill Foundry and it too will bring about new Evacuation effects. The map is described by Turtle Rock as, "an overlapping mix of open areas, corridors and low ceilings [that] create new tactical options for both Monster and Hunter players." If the Hunters win in this stage, they will get a supercharge to their jetpacks from the level's energy-rich bohrium in the next round. However, if the Monster wins, it will destroy the foundry, soaking the Monster in the previously mentioned energy-dense gas that will increase the damage of its melee attacks.

You can expect the Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry maps for Evolve to hatch on March 31 for Xbox One and  April 30 for PC and PlayStation 4.
