The PlayStation Vita will be getting a port of Disney Epic Mickey 2 later this year complete with new features designed specifically for the handheld.

While not necessarily a critical or commercial success, Disney Interactive Studios hasn't quite given up on Disney Epic Mickey 2 it seems. Sony has just announced the U.K. will be getting a Vita version of the unsuccessful sequel at some point in 2013.

The Vita edition will include touchscreen controls for painting, as well as a new exclusive co-op mode to be played over WiFi. There aren't many other details available at the moment (including a possible U.S. release), but that a port was developed after Junction Point Studios was closed is quite curious indeed.

We'll be keeping an eye out for more info and a potential North American version, so be sure to check back for more on Disney Epic Mickey 2.
