CD Projekt Red has disclosed the upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will include multiplayer, a first for the developer.

Speaking with Eurogamer, CD Projekt Red's managing director Adam Badowski discussed the idea of bringing multiplayer to the fold for the sci-fi RPG. "It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features," Badowski said.

But what of CDPR's other epic role-playing game The Witcher 3? Badowski hinted that multiplayer might find it's way into the sequel as well, adding the developer was thinking about how to incorporate such a feature into the open-world adventure.

Few other details are available at the moment as both games aren't due out for quite some time. That said, CD Projekt Red is a more than capable developer who should bring some very interesting ideas in how to include multiplayer in its games without that "tacked on" feel.
