Microsoft Studios and Reagent Games have formally rebranded the Xbox One version of Crackdown as Crackdown 3 and gave us an impressive new trailer.

Fresh from its Gamescom 2015 main stage presentation, Microsoft Studios and Reagent Games unveiled Crackdown 3 as an impressive sandbox shooter where every single environmental object and building is destructible. This includes apartments, parking garages and even high rise towers. The game will use Microsoft's cloud computing capabilities to pull more than 20 times the power of a single Xbox One console in order to help bring the city of Crackdown 3 to life. Watching the action unfold in a massive city with multiplayer mayhem going on is nothing short of impressive. We got to see an entire skyscraper crumble as one character ran through the building as it was going down, Man of Steel-style

I have to admit, I'm quite impressed. While the actual textures of the buildings are a bit empty, the trailer does claim that this is pre-alpha footage. Nevertheless, just thinking of the potential of this cloud computing-based city has me interested and eager to play. I can't wait to see what kind of chaos can happen while trying to restore order.

While no release date has been set, Crackdown 3 is going to have a multiplayer beta starting in the summer of 2016, which makes me think we might not see this game until late 2016 or early 2017. Nevertheless, Crackdown 3 is going to be an Xbox One exclusive.
