In Sunshine, which is not the video game adaptation of the Danny Boyle movie, you play as a little photon trying to save the, wait for it ... multiverse! Yeah, that's right. We just went theoretical physics all up in this piece. And this little photon is the only thing that's standing between the multiverse and a posse of evil black holes. If that's not enough for you to check out Sunshine, how about this: it's today's Free App of the Day!

Sunshine is a strange and fun game. According to the guys at Morbidware, photons apparently look like crazy cat heads. But we are all for that. It's also quite challenging. The gameplay in Sunshine boils down to this -- the black holes want to suck all the light out of the world and you must take it back.

Your job, crazy little cat-headed photon that you are, is to collect this light that's scattered about each level. The game moves fast and furious, but there's never a dull moment. There's 60 levels to run through and you're rated out of three stars for each level. The grades boil down to one star for completing the level, one for beating the par time, and one for getting three light pieces.

This game is usually three bucks, so you should definitely take advantage of the price drop and nab Sunshine today for your iPhone & iPad! It's a sunshine day!
