Thief Returning on Next Gen Consoles

One of the most awaited and rumored sequels of the past few years is finally official, as Eidos Montreal reveals Thief is coming to next generation systems.

Announced as the Game Informer cover story for April, Thief will be the fourth game in the series, even though Eidos is dropping the numeric indicator for this latest entry. The game will follow protagonist Garrett as he returns to the City to, "steal any and everything that will make him richer."

The City is under siege from a plague, and is now under the rule of the Baron, making Garrett's job a bit more challenging. There will be multiple branching paths, which will change the way players can take on different scenarios.

Thief is currently slated to arrive in 2014 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and other next generation consoles *cough* Xbox 720  *cough*. You can check out Game Informer's full cover below, as well as a short video teasing the full story from the magazine.
