Update:

Square Enix has confirmed that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the next major entry of the series, as it is Game Informer's cover story for its May issue. The game will take place two years after the events of Human Revolution, with Jensen returning to hunt down augmented terrorists with an Interpol-fueled task force.

Original Story:

A sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution has finally been revealed, as screenshots of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were leaked online.

A cached version of the Russian website Kanobu has led to a few screenshots of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided being leaked online, Polygon reports. While Square Enix or Eidos Montreal has yet to make an official announcement in regards to this new Deus Ex title, the file names for the project had the forename of Mankind Divided. This title will see the return of the cybernetically augmented hero, Adam Jensen. The screenshots revealed both first-person gameplay as well as some third-person stealth scenes. Based on the final screenshot, Jensen's weapons will have a variety of customization options as well. We have a feeling Square Enix will be formally unveiling this project soon.

A little over a year ago, Square Enix filed a trademark for a new and mysterious Deus Ex title. Square representatives claimed they were working on Deus Ex: Universe, which would connect the series through multiple Deus Ex titles along with future mobile games in the series. Alongside Universe, Square Enix admited to a major current-gen Deus Ex title being developed, and Mankind Divided appears to be it.

"It's a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before," said Eidos Montreal head David Anfossi last year in regards to his studio's titles in development:

Stay tuned as we'll provided up-to-date coverage on this new Deus Ex game once more information is available. Though nothing has been technically confirmed or announced, Mankind Divided is expected to hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
