Square Enix has revealed the debut trailer for the sequel to Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

This debut trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided looks quite impressive, vastly expanding the cybernetically augmented world of Deus Ex: Human Revolutioin. In Mankind Divided, we see what has happened to protagonist Adam Jensen from when we last saw him a few years ago. Now, cybernetically enhanced humans are shunned from the rest of the world, but when widespread terrorism spawns from a group of augmented terrorists fighting for more rights, Jensen must walk a line between ethics and justice to set things right, until he realizes these terrorists have some nefarious plans in mind.

Here's what Square Enix's description said about this upcoming cybernetic sequel:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided directly follows the aftermath of the Aug Incident, a day when mechanically augmented citizens all over the world were stripped of control over their minds and bodies, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents. The year is now 2029, and the golden era of augmentations is over. Mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and segregated from the rest of society. Crime and acts of terror serve as a thin veil to cover up an overarching conspiracy aimed at controlling the future of mankind…

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is coming soon on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Coming soon is rather vague — we're only eight months and a few weeks away from 2016, so a 2016 release could be considered soon. Then again, we reported last year that Eidos Montreal was working on a current-gen Deus Ex title. If Square and Eidos have been working on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided since early last year, it's quite possible that we could be seeing its PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One debut within the next few months.
