As almost everything seems to be made in China these days, it should come as no surprise that, when Shanda Games announced earlier today that it would be bringing forth Borderlands Online, it will be coming to China first.

Kotaku reports that Borderlands Online will be a made for China action RPG/online shooter that will be for both your PC and your smartphone. While there's still not a lot of detail about the game, especially the story and how it will evolve from the Borderlands franchise, we do know about the team working on it. Shanda is responsible for the operation and publishing of the game and is working with 2K games and Gearbox to develop it. There's even a dedicated development and support team that 2K games has set up in Shanghai for this online adventure.

As far as who you'll play once in the game, it seems that there will be four classes: soldier, hunter, siren, and possibly berserker. All of the classes seem to have at least a little resemblance to the characters that Borderlands has now. Kotaku also thought that it was worth mentioning that this game will probably run alongside many other games that are currently in closed beta in that it will be free-to-play.

Borderlands Online sounds pretty awesome so, now all we have to do is sit back and wait for the release date sometime later in 2015.
