Gearbox Software's PAX East panel has revealed that Dance Central Spotlight will be gaining some new playable characters from the Borderlands world.

If you've ever looked at Claptrap from the Borderlands series and thought he could have some sick dance moves up his... robotic arm sleeves then you're in luck — Dance Central Spotlight and Borderlands are teaming up to make your dream a reality. Polygon reports that PAX East isn't disappointing with its numerous Borderlands announcements, as we will soon be getting two new playable characters on Dance Central Spotlight. Nisha the Lawbringer and Claptrap will be joining you in executing some of their best dance moves in this Kinect-based music game. You can unlock both characters right now using a cheat code (XXXXX or YYYYY) on the character select screen.

While we're not completely sure how Claptrap would fare in a dance competition with his lack of legs, it seems we're not the only ones confused, which was revealed in a tweet from Harmonix's own Nick Chester.

Gearbox and Harmonix have been tossing around the idea of a Borderlands-themed crossover for the past year. There was even a teaser trailer released in June that showed off a "moon dance break," which was created in collaboration with Harmonix. With Dance Central Spotlight and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel debuting only a month apart from each other last year, it seems that this collaborative dance-off was fated to happen from the beginning.

You can boogie down with Nisha and Claptrap now on Dance Central Spotlight for the Xbox One.
