Snoop Lion, the artist formally known as Snoop Dogg, is going to be featured in a brand new video game called “Way of the Dogg.” The game will be a hybrid rhythm/action game and will be produced by UK studio Echo Peak.

According to Gamespot, Way of the Dogg will be inspired by Kung Fu movies and will feature Snoop himself fighting against a variety of baddies as his own music plays in the background.

Two screenshots for the game have been recently unveiled, which showcase what appears to be an Elite Beat Agents style rhythm system. Buttons are littered around the screen, connected by what appears to be motion tracks and arrows. Likely, players will have to press the buttons and move the stick to the beat and timing of the music. This would make the game play a lot like a fighting game, just more cinematic and rhythm based. This theory is supported by what appears to be a health bar at the top of the screen. The screenshots also show off what appear to be stars popping up on the game screen alongside the game commands, but what purpose they play has not yet been revealed.

"This game shows how we evolve as individuals and they've incorporated the journey of my own personal reincarnation as Snoop Lion into my character, the environments and the path that players have to follow,” said Snoop Lion in a statement. After he spent so much trouble rebranding himself “Snoop Lion” after a Rastafarian awakening, you have to wonder why he didn’t choose to name the game “Way of the Lion.” That sounds way more awesome and way less confusing. Choose a name and stick with it, Lion-O!

Way of the Dogg is set to release on the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, iOS, and Android. The game will release sometime later this year, though an official release date has not yet been given.
