Amidst all the tragedy and heartache of big name studios closing their doors in these trying economic times, it’s uplifting to hear of a studio that is actually opening up new branches.

According to Destructoid, Namco Bandai, the game giant behind titles such as Soul Calibur, Tekken, Tales, and more, is opening up two new studios. The first studio is going to open up in Vancouver, Canada sometime in June. The studios focus will be online social games and other casual games with a focus on social media. The second studio will be opened up in Singapore, also in June. Unfortunately, no details on this new studio's focus were available.

Very little bad news has been coming out of Namco Bandai recently. Tales of Xillia is coming to America, their fighting game team is going to be working on the new Smash Brothers, and they have great titles like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle coming out soon! Hopefully the opening of these new studios means great things for the Japanese developer as we head into the next console generation.
