The downloadable version of Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition has been available for a few months now, but a retail edition will hit stores soon.

Mojang's Owen Hill posted on the PlayStation Blog, letting PlayStation 3 fans know that they'll soon be able to head to brick-and-mortar stores to pick up copies of Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition in retail disc form.

Hill said, "It comes with all the features you’d expect from the console versions of Minecraft, along with everything that came with update 14, including Emeralds, Ender Chests, potatoes, and more."

The PlayStation 3 Edition will hit stores on May 16, so prepare to head out to your favorite video game retailer to pick up a copy. Or two. Or three. You have friends, right?

Hill also said that 4J is working on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft, though he gave no expected window of release for either edition. So hang tight, Minecraft fans with PlayStation machines; you'll get your chance to destroy your productivity soon enough.
