Minecraft Gets a Dash of Halo from Microsoft

Minecraft
Mojang/Microsoft Studios

Hang on to your butts, because Minecraft is getting the Halo treatment.

A tweet from Microsoft Studios featured a screenshot from Minecraft using Halo textures, with a blocky Master Chief staring straight at the camera and the rest of the halo looming in the distance.

The only text provided by Microsoft Studios was “Yes, this is happening” followed by the hashtag “#MinecraftXBLA.” Whether or not this means that the textures will only be available for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is unknown, given that the Xbox One version is set to debut soon.

The PlayXBLA website has also teased the texture pack and claims that we “might be headed for one of the most spectacular yet,” but doesn’t offer any specific details about the release at this time. We’ll keep you updated on the Halo texture pack as more information is made available.
