A recent purchase by Microsoft may have sealed the deal in helping Halo's leading lady step up to the plate for smartphone knowledge navigation and personal assistance.

Bloomberg Technology reported that Microsoft has bought a $15 million stake in Foursquare Labs Inc., which will bring a big push to Windows Phones. The Big M is reportedly planning to include Cortana as a part of the Windows Phone 8.1 release. Master Chief's digital squeeze is intended to be the Windows Phone's answer to Apple's Siri service.

Microsoft's purchase will lead to multitudes of location data from Foursquare being integrated into the Cortana program. Rumors have it that Windows 8.1 update is expected to be out sometime in April. We can't wait to say to our phones "Cortana, where is the nearest Taco Bell?" and hear the 'Peachy' voice of Jen Taylor give us a response.
