For everybody anxiously awaiting Mewtwo's debut as a fighter on Super Smash Bros., the wait is almost over, as Nintendo finally announced a release date for both the Wii U and 3DS versions.

Recently, Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros., came forward to say that Mewtwo was almost ready to be released, teasing us with his presence but never giving us a release date. However, now Satoru Iwata calmed our anxieties on this week's Nintendo Direct by finally announcing that Mewtwo will be released on April 28. That's still just about an entire month from now, but at least we know how long we'll have to wait.

There will be two different price points for Mewtwo. For those who only own the game on one system — Nintendo 3DS or Wii U — Mewtwo will cost $3.99. However, you can also choose to buy the character for both systems, if you just so happen to have the game for both. If you decide to buy Mewtwo for both systems, you can get it for $4.99.

If you are a Club Nintendo member who picked up both versions, and happened to register both before March 31, you'll get a code to download Mewtwo for free on April 15.

Mewtwo has led a life of legacy since its release in the Pokemon series and with its blink moves as well as the way it can knock you out with only its tail, it will definitely be a contender in Super Smash Bros. when it finally does come out.

In the meantime, while we're waiting for Mewtwo to teleport his way on to Super Smash Bros., you can vote for your favorite character to be added on to the game or test out the game's most recent addition, Lucas from Earthbound.
