Nintendo is finally adding Ness' Earthbound friend, Lucas, to the Super Smash Bros. roster just in time for E3 2015.

The official website for Super Smash Bros. revealed that Lucas from the Earthbound/Mother series will be hitting the 3DS and Wii U's roster on June 14. Also launching on this day will be a set of new Mii Fighter costumes based on Splatoon (as paid DLC). Nintendo has already released other Mii costume pieces as DLC, including Mega Man X and Proto Man outfits, which are quite awesome.

With The Legend of Zelda Wii Ubeing delayed to 2016 or beyond, there's not much on Nintendo's home console radar other than Mario Maker, Star Fox and Yoshi's Woolly World. Nintendo better announce some major additions to the Super Smash Bros. roster if they want to try and bolster Wii U sales throughout the rest of 2015 and keep us playing. If it were up to us, we'd add Knuckles, Paper Mario, Birdo and Geno, but who knows what kind of characters might Nintendo add to the roster, if any.

Lucas will be available to download for both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. on June 14. He will cost $3.99 on each system, but for a single, $4.99 purchase you can unlock him for both platforms. This same pricing format applies to Mewtwo as well, who was released back in the end of April.
