Electronic Arts has pulled the Medal of Honor franchise out of its rotation due to the poor reception of Medal of Honor Warfighter. EA COO Peter Moore was rather frank about the company's decision during today's quarterly earnings call.

"The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers," said Moore. "Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved. This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation and have a plan to bring year over year continuity to our shooter offerings."

EA Labels president Frank Gibeau admitted that the company missed the mark with Medal of Honor: Warfighter and since the company operates in what he called a, "hit-driven business," the game's performance, "was really about a hit missing." Moving forward, Electronic Arts is anticipating the February releases of Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3.
