There's no place like home, and these people really turned out some fantastic designs. From sconces to duvets and carpets to furniture, these interior designers are the cream of the crop.

We've all been playing games for so long, we often take the worlds created by the people that inhabit them for granted. Sure, when it boils down to it, these magnificent virtual landscapes and homes are created by actual people somewhere in an office. But the locations we visit in games are also based on the character that's been developed to live in that digital space.

Where some games haven't exactly wowed us with brilliant design, others (like the ones on this list, natch!) are incredibly memorable from a design standpoint. Architecture and interior design is an important part of making a fictional world believable and livable. If you don't buy that the someone would actually inhabit a place, you're immediately pulled from the illusion. Being taken out of the game ruins the overall experience, and will leave you wanting.

Fortunately for everyone, the games and characters on this list are the top of the pops. As the old saying goes, "Nobody does it better. Nobody does it half as good as you. Baby, you're the best." I think I saw that on a Hallmark card once. Anyway, today for your viewing pleasure, 5x5 proudly presents the Greatest Accomplishments in Interior Design by a Fictional Character (or Paul).
