It's pretty amazing when you think about it -- just a few years ago, you needed a high end PC or gaming system to display the kind of graphics gamers are now able to get on the go with their high end tablets and smartphones. With the new iPad and iPhone 5 you can now play games that look like they belong on a Playstation 3 or high end gaming computer. Now this list isn't taking into account if the game sucks or not. We don't care. So which games in the App Store have the best graphics? Let's take a look at 10 beauties, shall we?

    Shadowgun

    Madfinger Games

Hey, this game looks cool! Shadowrun boasts some pretty impressive graphics. I could have ranked it higher but the enemies look so generic it lost some cool points. But the environments are gorgeous and the shadowing is fantastic. Did I just compliment a game on its shadows? Yeesh.

    Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy

    Namco Networks America Inc. Games

It feels like I'm Tom Cruise in Top Gun! Sky Gamblers looks awesome on the new iPad. Rain effects, awesome lighting effects and gorgeous scenery help immerse you in the danger zone. Just check that canopy before take off or your goose may get cooked. Top Gun zingers for the win!

    Wild Blood

    Gameloft

The main character model looks a little weird, but everything else looks awesome. The camera sucks but that's OK, you're not playing this to actually have fun with it, you're playing it to stare at the pretty monsters. Ignore Gameloft's cheap attempts at sucking in-app purchases out of you and enjoy the medieval graphics.

    Batman Arkham City Lockdown

    Warner Bros. Entertainment

Batman is in our 10 best graphics in games list because he's never looked better. On any platform. Period. The fact that you can choose to play as different Batmans from different comic book time periods only adds to how crazy good this game looks. "YOU'RE SO PRETTY, BATMAN!" I should probably stop shouting that out in public.

    Avengers Initiative

    Marvel Entertainment

The Hulk may look good on the big screen, but he's no slouch in this new Avengers video game either. Avengers Initiative with The Hulk is the first in a series of episodic adventures featuring our favorite Marvel super heroes, and they've never looked better. When I take my shirt off my back is just as muscular, so I know what I'm talking about.

    Glowfish HD

    MumboJumbo

Hey, what's all this fish cuteness doing here? Glowfish came out over a year ago, but it still holds up as one of the best looking games in the App Store. Each new world you swim to reveals a lush underwater environment prettier than the last one you were in. It's so sharp and colorful looking you won't be able to put the game down. Seriously, it's running right now as I write this and I just want to stop this list and go pla ... ya, heck with this. I'm going back to the game.

    Modern Combat 3: Modern Nation

    Gameloft S.A.

If you showed screenshots of Modern Combat 3 to a friend and asked him to pick which console game the shots were from, he'd guess wrong every time. And after you tell him that these are screenshots from the new iPad, you can point at him and laugh for hours because he's too stupid to realize that tablets have caught up to the awesome graphics of consoles. Actually, just go get a new friend. You don't want to hang out with a moron.

    Real Racing 2 HD

    Firemint Pty Ltd

Real Racing 2 HD is going to have a spot in our 10 best graphics games list until Real Racing 3 comes out. When that happens, we're gonna ditch this entry because it'll look like Pole Position compared to the 3rd game. For now, the beautiful car models and gorgeous backgrounds in Real Racing 2 HD will just have to make do.

    N.O.V.A. 3

    Gameloft S.A.

I still think I'm playing my Alienware when I play N.O.V.A. 3. It looks like a $50 PC game and plays like one too. I love the graphics, the cut scenes. Hell, I love everything about it. When N.O.V.A. 4 comes out I'll probably need LASIK again because my eyes will have burned out from never blinking.

    Infinity Blade II

    Chair Entertainment Group

If Infinity Blade II were a supermodel, it would be a supermodel comprised of the entire Sports Illustrated lineup from the past 20 years. Everytime I boot this up, I'm still blown away by how beautiful it is. The backgrounds, enemies, items, everything shines. It's the Da Vinci of tablet games. If I were to get sucked into a video game world, I'd want it to be this one. OK, I'm lying, I'd wanna get sucked into Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, but you know what I mean.
