Sharknado: The Video Game to Tear Up iPhones This Summer
Get ready for a burst or ridiculousness to hit your iOS devices, because Sharknado: The Video Game will be released soon.
We love when things are so bad that they're good. There is no bigger example of this than SyFy's 'Sharknado,' the B-movie extravaganza that makes no bones about its content and delivers just that: a tornado full of man-eating sharks.
Developer Other Ocean is working with Majesco Entertainment to release Sharknado: The Video Game for iOS devices this summer. It's actually based on the upcoming sequel, 'Sharknado 2: The Second One,' and will feature infinite runner gameplay. In the game, players will control main character Fin as he battles Sharknadoes around New York City. Oh, and he'll be using a broadsword to kill sharks. Yeah.
Players will also be able to use tiger sharks in order to jump up to higher ground, surf through the flooded streets of New York, collect Sharknado trading cards, wield a chainsaw while hurtling straight into the heart of the Sharknado and generally be a badass.
Game designers Frank Cifaldi said, "When Majesco approached us about making a Sharknado game, we said ‘yes’ before they’d even finished asking. The game we came up with is very much in the spirit of the films: ridiculous, overblown, yet oddly sincere. We can’t wait for fans to sink their teeth into it.”
Sharknado: The Video Game is currently in development but we'll update you on any news of a release date as more information is unveiled.
