Amazon has only just announced its Fire TV set-top box for streaming and gaming, and now it's beefing up its video game development studio with some new additions.

According to Kotaku, Amazon has picked up Portal designer Kim Swift and Far Cry 2 designer Clint Hocking, making them the newest additions to Amazon Game Studios.

It's not certain whether or not they'll be working on anything specifically meant for the Fire TV, but chances are pretty good that they'll be developing something for Amazon's shiny, new box. Only time will tell whether or not Amazon becomes a big player in the video game market, but it'll be exciting to see what they have in the future now that they've picked up Swift and Hocking, along with the studio that remade Killer Instinct for the Xbox One, Double Helix.

We'll keep you updated as more information is released.
