New Darksiders Owners Want to Speak With Old Darksiders Creators
The final set of THQ bankruptcy auctions has finally closed down, and its intellectual properties have spread far and wide to new homes everywhere. Nordic Games was the lucky winner who picked up fan favorite Darksiders, along with Red Faction, udraw, MX vs. ATV, and many more.
Darksiders is easily one of the THQ IPs that fans have been most concerned about. THQ reportedly had plans for third and fourth entries into the series and, according to Eurogamer, Nordic Games is very interested in what these plans might have been.
“We are not a developer,” Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors said. “We should not create a sequel. We need to find the best creative team to look into a sequel. We will look into various options to make sequels.”
Wingefors went on to say that they would love to do something with Crytek USA, the studio that has picked up much of the former staff of Vigil Games, Darksiders’s original developer. “If they can prove they can make a worthwhile sequel, why shouldn't we talk?” Unfortunately, Wingefors could not confirm whether or not they have been in discussions with the studios yet.
“We take one day at a time.” Wingefors said. “I'm sure we'll get the chance to speak.”
