As last-gen to current-gen remasters have become a trend on the market, we've decided to round up our own list of games that we'd like to see given an HD makeover. Mind you, we're talking about remasters here, not remakes. A remake would require that the game be rebuilt from scratch, such as Square Enix's upcoming return to Final Fantasy VII or the 2002 Resident Evil on GameCube. A remaster takes the original game and gives it some updated qualities, usually in terms of its graphics and audio. A few examples of these would be The Last of Us Remastered, Kingdom Hearts' 1.5 and 2.5 Remixes, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.

We tried to stay realistic with these choices of remasters by keep our choices confined within the past few console generations. Most games beyond that would probably need a full-fledged remake to hit the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. We're guestimating that anything from the fifth generation of consoles (Sega Saturn, 3DO, Jaguar, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation) or before would warrant a remake; and games from the sixth generation (PlayStation 2, Xbox, Dreamcast and GameCube) and after could potentially work as a remaster. Of course, none of this is set in stone, and some of you are bound to be fine with a remaster of let's say Brave Fencer Musashi, whereas we feel like it would deserve a remake instead.

There are some people out there who are tired of seeing the hits of yesteryear being brought over to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as remasters, but these 10 games definitely deserve to make the jump.
