Electronic Arts recently announced that it will bring to a close the Facebook-based The Sims Social, along with SimCity Social and Pet Society. For players of these games, you have until the middle of June to get in as much socializing as you can, because that's when EA will shut things down.
Pet Society has been a Facebook game since 2008, while The Sims Social has been distracting people from their newsfeeds since 2011. SimCity Social isn't even a year old, but will join the other two titles.

The moves by EA shouldn't be too surprising, given the problems that the gaming giant has had with Zynga. Also a number of recent EA social titles have been failing to gain a foothold, which may indicate a move that the gaming giant might be moving on from the Facebook gaming route altogether.
